Top Ten Quarterbacks Entering The NFL.

Top Ten Quarterbacks Entering The NFL.

In the past, NFL fans and analysts have had an easier time projecting the best quarterbacks in the league from year to year. If The Numbers All Lined, The Highest Paid Guys With The Best Production Would Usually Remain A-fixed Statically, Almost Unmoved along The League's Hierarchy—Think About The Mannings: Brady, Bree, Roethlisberger, Luck, Rodgers, Rivers Could Almost Control A Spot In A top Ten for A Decade Plus —But Now Thats No Longer The Case. Consider Jared Goff In His First Season In Detroit. Jared Goff ranked as the highest quarterback while bearing one of the worst designations in quality (QBR, passenger rating), and his career was near the brink of collapse just two years later. He's Back From Amongst The Dead, Still One Of The Highest Paid, But Now He's Good At Football Again. In 2024, Trevor Lawrence Taking His Place As One Of The Higher Paid Guys With Middling, Untenable Production After A Career Season In 2023 That Looked Like A turnaround For The Once Golden Child Of Quarterback. The Quarterback Position Doesn't Have The Strictness Of Years Pass. Two Years You Could've Presumed Justin Fields A Top Ten Talent At The Position, Now He's Battling For Starting Job In One Of The Worse Quarterback Spots In Football And Labeled BackUp. During The Eagle’s Latest Super Bowl Run, Jalen Hurts Look Like An MVP After His First Two Years In The League Made Everyone Wonder If He'd Live Up to Ready's Passing Scheme Last Year. He Regressed Again, Looking Closer To His College Version Of Himself.  The Point List Quarterbacks In The NFL Requires Tentativeness Approach Every Season Because These Shift Position Constantly.

1)Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs—

The Chiefs Quarterback Took The League By Storm in His First season Back In 2018, and While You Can Argue Mahomes Hasn't Owned The Number One Spot Over the time He Started At The Position, He's Held Himself At The Top For At least The past two Years Despite Great Challenges Around Him In Team Turnover. Since Taking Over As the Starter Mahomes Has Thrown For Over 28000 Yards, 219 Touchdown With a Passer Rating Of 103.5. One Could Argue That Mahomes had His Best Season Two Years Ago When He Broke The All-Time Yardage Mahomes finished the season with 5,614 yards, 5,250 yards passing, 358 yards rushing, and 6 yards receiving, setting the record, And Mahomes Produced Those Landmark Numbers Without Star Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill In The Lineup And Won a Super Bowl. That Season Showed That Mahomes Could Play The Role Of Traditional Dropback Marksman And Not The "Balls To Wall" Gun Slinger Model He's Made Famous Since Entering The League. Mahomes and Andy Reid Brought A Little Ric Flair To The NFL Game By Making The Abnormal Routine(Platform

throws, side Arm Throws, And Uncommon Formations) In effect, The Common Touch is difficult. Mahomes Suffered Something Of A Step Back Last Year, Even Compared To The Usual Record Breaking Standard Step Back, At Just 4183 Passing Yards, 27 Touchdown But No Less He Delivered Another Super Bowl. Mahomes Interceptions Have Surged Over The Past Three Season, Registering 39 Over The Past Three Compared To 23 Over His First Three, But With The Changes Along The O-Line, You Expected Regression. Into 2024, I Love What The Chiefs Have Done by Re-Investing Into Their Explosive Offense, Signing Marquise Brown, And Drafting Xavier Worthy While Playing "a Boring," Tamed, And "Controlled" Offense, Won The Chiefs A Super Bowl, But As A Fan You Can't Help But Miss The Excitement.

2)Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills —

Still Only 28 Years Old, We May Have Not Yet Seen The Best Version Of Josh Allen. He's possibly the best talent at quarterback, considering (Even if his pairs consider him "Overrated"). He's Able To Make Many Of The "Artsy" Off-Dimensional plays That Mahomes Can, With a Stronger Arm and Far Forceful Runner. I want Josh Allen's mold if I build a quarterback from Scratch. Allen's Abilities Sometimes Get The Best Of Him, And Sometimes, when Watching, You get The Sense of Control Over  Him, Cyclops From X-men Goggles, Constraints He Can Become A Detriment Offense. Allen Can Rampage A Defense With Arm Strength And Athleticism, But He, At Times, Doesn't Know How To Vary His Play.  Often, he takes Too Much On Himself, And while This Leads To a Game Where He Generates Nearly 70-80% Of The Team's Yardage In Some Games, Allen Can Put His Team In Bad Positions With Ill-Timed Throws. Josh Started His NFL Career In 2018, And While His Career Passing Stats Look Modest In Comparison To Mahomes (22,703 Total Career Passing Yards, One Of The Best Over That Stretch) His Rushing Stats, 3,611 Yards Make A  Large  Difference. last Season On The Strength Of Allen's Arm The bills Recovered From A 6-6 Start To Make The Playoffs.   The Window For Allen To Win An NFL MVP Has Shrunk, But If He Can Lead The Bills To A Fifth Straight AFC East Title Under The Most Trying Situation( New Receivers, Weakened Defense)Of His Career, He Could Find Back In The Conversation.

3)Lamar Jackson,  Baltimore Ravens—

A Quarterback In Everyone's Top 5, Jackson Has Fascinated Football Fans With His Ability To Control Football in Highest Position With His Legs Instead Of His Arm. Lamar Became A Football Highlight Generator Factory In His Early days For The Ravens, But The Team Couldn't Overcome Playoff Hurdles. In the past three seasons, Jackson has been mending his arm talent with his legs, and Jackson has come a long way. Last Season, He Notched Some Of the Best Passing Stats Of His Career: 104.4 Passer Rating, 65.3 QBR, A 72.2% True Completion Percentage, A 66.2% Red Zone Comp% on 7.8 Air Yards Per Attempt. I wouldn't say Lamar could win through the air alone, but he could more than threaten a defense—another problem for Lamar: health. Despite Strong starts That Lead To a qualified Season For The Ravens, Jackson's   Sidelined in A Hoodie Or Jacket For the Most Pivotal Game Become A Common Picture Last Season. Jackson Stayed, The Ravens Won The Number one seed, But He Couldn't Prevent A Ravens Down In The Playoffs. One of the most admirable qualities of Lamar's game is that he sometimes gets overlooked. He's played most of his career without a top receiver threat. Tight Mark Andrews Claims The Honor As The Best Pass Catching  On The Ravens Roster, And Aside From Andrews, Lamar Produced One 1,000 Yard Receiver, Marquise Brown, In 2021. Lamar Still did rank As A top-ten passer In The League Last Season, Finishing 12th In ESPN's Passing EPA Stat at 59.4, And I Don't Think He'll Fill In The Gaps Between His explosive Runs And Levels Of His Passing.

4th)Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys —

I've Always Had A Tough Time Trusting and Evaluating Dak Prescott's Game As A Cowboy's Quarterback. Usually, His Mistakes Get More Embellished Than His Moment Of Excellence. In The Media, Prescott gets called Out More When The Cowboys Fail Rather Than His Ability To Command The Quarterback Position. Dak Finished Number One In ESPN Passing EPA Metric With a 91.6 Score, Over 15 Points Greater Than The Second Place Finisher. Except in 2022(When Dak Missed A Few Games),  Dak Has Finished Top 10 Or Near The Top Ten In This state since Taking Over As A Starter. What's Especially Exciting About Dak's Game, His Processing Of Plays. Dak Commands The Game With the Precognition of Someone Experiencing Deja Vu, Like He's Seen These Plays And a Combination Of Routes And Landmarks Ahead Of The Snap. His Quick Throwing Serves As Evidence To This Approach As Dak Ranks Third Amongst Passer According To PFF Grading On Throws Under 2.5 Seconds, Coming At 83.8 Grade, Producing 20 Touchdown To Just Three Interception In That Under 2.5 Category, The Best Touchdown to Interception Ratio. He's Not The Best Arm Talent, But he's One Of The Best At His Position.

5th) Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals —

In Week Two Of The Bengals' 2023 Campaign, A Slow Burn Of A Season For Cincinnati, Joe Burrow Completes A Pass Over The Middle To Tee Higgins For About Yards. This play would go down as a regular completion for Joe Burrow. If not, he completed the pass between three Ravens Defenders, and all dropped back into zone coverage. Plays That In Week Two Versus The Ravens Sometimes Stir  Me Into Placing  Joe Burrow As The Number One Quarterback In The NFL. He's Easily The Most Accurate Quarterback In The NFL. In The past two seasons, Burrow Has Finished the Top Three In the Target Pass Percentage Except for his injury-shortened 2023-24 Season. Of Course, Burrow Has His Comings. He's Not The Best Distance Thrower In Football, But He Can Handle The Rock. Despite never having played an entire football season and suffering a massive 148 sacks, Joe Burrow has generally positive stats, 14083 passing yards, and 97 touchdowns while completing 68% of his passes. Burrow's Massive Extension Will Cut In On The Teams Salary Cap Next, So The Bengals Have To A Priority To Seize Another Super Bowl Run Before Their Roster Grows Too Pricey.

6th) CJ Stroud, Houston Texans—

In Many Ways, CJ Strouds's Rookie Season Performance Shouldn't Surprise Anyone. He played the same style of football at Ohio State for two seasons. The Surprise From Stroud's Stellar Introduction That Featured Top Ten Finishes In Total Passing Yards, Passer Rating, and EPA And Stroud Displayed All Of This Potential At Ohio State Analysts Just Question Whether He Could Achieve These Remarkable Feats At Columbus Most Analyts Questioned If Stroud Could Elevate A roster; He Proved Such And More In His First Season At Ohio State.

Stroud Still Has Struggle Pro Football Reference Still Ranked Him As One Of Lowest On-Target Passers In The NFL, Somehow Only Bryce Young—Who Finished With A Completely Contrasted Season To Stroud—Finished With A Lower Bad Pass Percentage. His Bad Passes Could Reflect A Gray In How PFR Gathers Stats Or A Necessary Growth In Stroud's Game. Stroud Still, However, Picked The Completed Air Yard passes Per Average.

7th)Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins—

Over The Decades Of The NFL Passing Revolution, We've Witnessed Joint Quarterbacks Who Perfectly Mesh With The Offensive Coordinator and System That Directs  The Quarterback's arms and instructs their Minds To Make Plays On Sunday. We Watched  Drew Brees And Sean Payton Over The Last two Decades. Now We Have Tua And Mike McDaniels. Nothing Tua's Dont Stand Out Above Any Other Quarterback In The League. Sure, He Might Process The Field Well, But Most Top 15 and 10 quarterbacks in The League Can At least Read A Defense At A High Level. His Arm Strength Looks Average, Of The Dolphins Big Explosive Plays Comes As A Product Of The Talent At The Skill Position, With Tua MeanWHILE on Stand By Responsible For Not Screwing Up The Delivering Of The Ball. He’s Farily Accurate Either With Passes. His Tua excels at Getting The Ball Out Of His Hand Quicker Than Anyone Else in the Position. Last season, Tua ranked first to throw, number one in yards produced Under 2.5, producing around 22 touchdowns and 3,264 passing yards on a decent average depth of target of 6.8(PFF).  Tua led the League In Total Passing Yards at 4624 and Fifth In Total touchdowns. I’m not Bullish On Tua's Play Style or in his top-paid quarterback position.  Truthfully, A Trained Eye  Can Make The Argument That a Trained Quarterback Could Produce These Numbers Working With  McDaniels and one of The Best Receivers In The Game, But Tua Has Come A Long Way From The RPO Specialist He Played Like In His First Stint As A starter, And That Alone Deserves Praise And Acknowledge.

8th) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions—

When The Rams Traded Jared Goff To The Lions Three Years Ago, The Deal Center On Matthew Stafford Going To LA And The Lions Getting A Load Of First Round Picks And The Most Expensive Bridge Quarterback In League History. Goff’s Goff's Took Steep Detour From The Golden Boy Critics Compose Him As After the Rams Selected The Cal Golden Bear Number One. In His Year With Lion (2021), Goff Produced 3245 Passing Yards, 19 Touchdowns, And 8 Interceptions. In one Of The worst years Of His Career Last Season, Goff Finished Second In Total Passing Yards 4575, 30 Touchdowns, and 12 Interceptions With a 97.9 Passer Rating, A 50.9% Success Rate, And An 80.3% Target Percentage. Goff Suffering One Of The 6.1% Rate In The League. However, The Elevation Of The Skill Players Surrounding Goff Complimented His Resurgence. Over the Past Three Seasons, The Lions Have Watched A Number Of Their Players Rise To New Heights At several Positions, Starting With Amon-RA St. Brown As One Of The League’s D’Andre Swift(Before Departing) Had Career Years In The Lions’s Offense. Penei Sewell And All Of The Lions Offensive Developed Into The Premiere Group In Football Personnel. I think Goff’s Goff's  As Technical Passer and Good Decision Maker, Coupled With His Mind-Meld With Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson Added To Union With and The Rise Of His Personnel, Has Given Him The Opportunity.

9th)Brock Purdy, San Fransisco 49ers—

Brock Purdy possesses many impressive qualities as a quarterback, including his mobility, timing, Decision-making, and off-platform skills.

He throws, But One Thing Purdy doesn’t have enough Credit For: He Saved Kyle Shanahan And  John lynch From The Embarrassment of one Of The worst top Three Picks In NFL History In Trey Lance. Lance May Turn Out Later, But For Now, Purdy’sPurdy'scted Rise To The Heights Of Super Bowl Quarterback. Last Season, Brock Purdy Finished With The Best EPA Per Play, Completion Percentage, Success Rate, and Completion Percentage Over Expected; he’s the perfect economic passer For Kyle ShanahaShanahan'se, Where He Does Everything Just Good Enough To Succeed. Tua And Purdy Fills The Same Space As Tua, Where His System And Skill Position Players Prop Him. He’s BlHe'sd To Play With Some Of The Best Yards After Catch Masters In The League. He’s FaHe'som UnMerited In The 49ers Passing Success After Leading The League In Completed Air Yards Per Attempt. Purdy's Will Always Earn question Marks From Critics Who View them More As A “System" Guy, "but I Think This Season Will Prove Critics Otherwise.

10th)Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers—

Love’s Love'sSeason as The Starter In Green Bay Went Without A Hitch. The Packers Offense Ranked Seventh Overall, Working With A Load Of Young Talent On The Outside and Changes Along The Offensive Line, But Truthfully, Love Made A lot Of The Offense Work. Matt LafleurLafleur'se, Like Kyle ShanahaShanahan'se, Utilizes A lot Of Shallow Crossing Routes On Different Levels And a Surge Of Play Action Passes. A Identifying Feature Of The Shanahan Tree, 25.8 percent of Love’s Love's Came Off Play Action and Produced 1105 Yards And Seven Touchdowns Striking Deep On Shallower Routes. Love doesn’t have the Tier Talent in the League, but his Float passes make the ball more receivable to his receivers.  His Awkward Side Arm Throw does help prop up his ability to deliver on crossing routes, but Love still finished with a low accuracy rating and actual completion percentage. Love Finished 7th In Total Passing Yards, 2nd In Total Touchdown Passing Touchdown With 32, passer Rating Just Outside The Top Ten At 96.1, And Fifth In EPA Per Play. Love Got His Career Off To A Great Start, And My Fitting Top Comes With Some Level Of Projection But As This Team Develops Love With Lift Along Side Love.

Honorable Mentions: Jalen Hurts Looked Like An MVP two seasons ago But Had an up-and-down Season Adjusting To The New Offensive Call Without Shane Steichen On Board. Hurts Finished With a lot of Good Stats, Including A 6th Rank EPA+CPOE Composite(0.124)But Only An 89.1 Passer rating and A Completion Percentage Of 65.4%. Matthew Stafford Showed He Can Sling The Rock Despite Missing Two Game Stafford Fell Just Short Of 4000 Passing Yards(3965), Including Five 300 Yard Games On, But He Only Completed Around 62% Of His Passes, And He Looked Over The Hill At Times. Geno Smith is another Guy Who struggled To Adjust To The loss of His OC. Still, He’ll LHe'llor An Opportunity To  Bounce Back This Season After A Career Revival of Go Smith Before Reverting To More Of A Pumpkin—The Written Off One—With the loss of Dave Canales. We’ll be able to witness The Dave Canales Effect again this season as Baker Mayfield experienced a career resurgence under Canales as OC last season. Mayfield saved himself from a career as a backup and earned a new contract after the best season, with over 4000 yards, 28 touchdowns, and a completion of 64.3%. With a three-year, 100 million dollar Pact with the Buc, Mayfield will look to prove more than just a project.
