AFC South And AFC West Season Review

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars Performed a Mighty Collapse At The End Of The Season, Falling From An 8-3 To 9-7 Finish, Missing The Playoffs, and Ultimately Looking Like A Completely Opposite Team That Started The Season With A Chance To Contend In The AFC. Another year, Trevor Lawrence is still "Baffling" and fails to reach the cartoonishly massive expectations for his career. The Former Number One Pick Still Looks No Different From The Next Average Quarterback. Lawrence produced 4,016 passing yards and 21 touchdowns but fumbled 12 times and threw 14 interceptions and an EPA per dropback of 0.05. Lawrence dealt with numerous nagging injuries. For most of his career, Lawrence stayed Healthy Until some injuries This Season nearly forced him to miss games. The Jags' Offense Didn't Take Off As Some Expected. Wide Receiver Calvin Ridley didn't produce the expected impact when coming off Suspension and coming home to Florida. Ridley Still Produced A 1000 Yard Season(Barely), But Heights Didn't Move The Needle As A Difference Maker, And The Jags Need To Look Elsewhere To Improve Their Receiving Group.

Tennessee Titans

The Mike Vabrel Era In Tennessee Came To An End This off-season, A Very successful era. At That, Vrabel led the Team To The Best Record In The AFC Two Years Ago, 2022. Now He's unemployed. The Brian Callahan Era Begins, Two Years Ago As Offensive Coordinator Callahan Coached The Bengals To a Win Over That Number One Seed Titans In The Divisional Round, along With Vrabel, Leaves Derrick Henry The Most Dominant Running Back Of The Past Decade. The Titans have shuffled many of the team's best players in recent years, but a hard reset seems imminent. Rookie Quarterback Will Levis Flex Some Upside Now Callahan Will Have A Full Off Season To Mold the Natural Gifts Of The Coming 2nd Year Quarterback.

Houston Texans

The Texans Came Out Of Nowhere Last Season And Quickly Put The AFC On Notice. If We Thought The Chiefs, Dolphins, Bengals, And Billy Would Control The Conference With Brady Done, But CJ Stroud and The Texans have Squeezed Their Name Into The Mix With A Raucous Rookie For Stroud and Coach Demeco Ryan. The Texans also started the season with the weakest receiving corps in football, but Rookie Tank Dell emerged as a monster presence on the outside before going down with a season-ending injury. Nico Collins, Who Maybe Only Michigan Fans And Texans Die Hard, But Heights, Enters His Fourth Hot Like Very Few Receivers, 1297 Yards, 80 Catches, A 129.6 Passer Rating Generated On Targets, And a 90.6 PFF receiving Grade. Theo Texans Traded Away Their First Round Pick To The Cardinals For Willow Anderson, But They Still Hold The Browns' First From The Bounty From The Deshaun Watson Trade.

Indianapolis Colts

Shane Steichen's Didn't Quite Reach Their Potential Last Season With Anthony Richardson Going Down With a Season Ending Just His Latest Blend Of Rushing and Passing Duality Started To Impact The League. In Four Games, Richardson Generated 577 Yard, Two Hundred Yard Game On Inconsistent Reps, But On The Ground, Heights Rushed For Four Touchdowns. The Colts must hand out a new contract to wide receiver Micheal Pittman Jr., who is only just Franchise-tagged. Gardner Minnchew Almost Helped Lead The Colts To The Playoffs But Fell Two Silly Losses To The Patriots and Panthers From Winning The Division. Shane Steichen Still Possesses One Of The Most Talented Offensive Teams In Football If They Get A Complete Season From Running Back Jonathan Taylor And Continue To Bolster An Offensive Line That Only Allowed 15 Sacks but Finished 26th In Pass Block Win Rate And 11th In Run Block Win Rate Whiles Dealing With A Myriad Of Injuries Along The Line.

Denver Broncos

Step Aside Riverdale Season

1 Or 2 Or 3 The Broncos Had One Of The Wildest Seasons Ever. You Probably Know They Got Blasted in Week One In Head Coach Sean Payton's Debut With The Team. They Get Wallop By The Dolphins, Give Up 70, And Every Watching Goes "Here We Go Again" With Another Broncos Season Down The Drain, However. That Piece Of History, The Historic Defensive Let, Didn't Undo The Broncos. Sean Payton's Group Would Right The Ship and Even Contend For The Playoffs Almost To The End. Instead, The Tense History Of Russell Wilson And His Head Coaches. After a late-season season loss to the Patriots that crushed the Broncos' playoff odds, the Broncos partnered Russell Wilson as their 250 million-dollar quarterback. "Our Job Is To Make This Next One Doesn't Have A Line Through It," Sean Payton Speaking To The Media Of The Losses At Quarterback The Broncos Have Suffered Since Peyton Manning Retired.

Los Angeles Chargers

Am I The Only One Still Waiting On The Chargers To Not Fall Short Of Expectations? For Some Reason, No Matter How Much I Try To Taper My Expectations For This Franchise, Something Compels Me To Believe The Chargers Can Win The Division Over The Chiefs And A Super Bowl. Psychologists Call This Fervent Belief in Complete Dismissal Of Evidence Delusional, But The Chargers Have That Sway On Football Fans. This Season, The Chargers Have Reason For Optimism, But Caution Signs Riddle The Ground Like Land Mines Waiting To Take Out Any Unsuspecting Hope. New Head Coach Jim Harbaugh, Harbaugh Brings His "Turn Around" Specialty To The Chargers This Season. He's Turned Around The 49ers From A Perennial Top 10 Draft team To A Super Bowl Appearance And Michigan To A National Champion. Sooner Or Later, Harbaugh Should Give Us Results Rather Than Excuses Like Some Former Chargers Head Coach Butler. More Later. Theo Chargers Have Some Salary Cap Gymnastics To Work Out, And The Cap Casualties Could Range From 2 To 4 Players All On Massive Deals.

Las Vegas Raiders

Antonio Pierce Performed A Late Season Turnaround For The Raiders And Earned Himself A Full Time Head Coach Role. The Wins won Pierce The Locker Room And The Job, But Now The Raiders Sit Outside The Range For The Best Quarterbacks In The Draft. New Offensive Coordinator Luke Getsy Willow works with Aidan O'Connell And whoever the Team Selects At Some Point in The Draft. Getsy Willow also has Davantae Adams, formerly employed by the Packers, to work with. However, The Draft Plays Out For The Raiders. They need a good player to hit on a first-round pick, And Josh Jacobs is a free agent. The Defense Made A massive Leap With Maxx Crosby Pouring In The Pressures, But The Defense Needs Talent.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs May Have Won The "Best" Super Bowl Of Their Entire Dynasty In February. For the First Time in Patrick Mahomes' Career, the Chiefs came out Of Nowhere. Kansas City had to play On Theo Rose and face two AFC Behemoths in their paths with an unproven roster of pass catchers, but this Super Bowl demonstrated Theo's more collectivized vision of Andy Reid. Now That the Season has Ended Let's Face The Truth: We Want More Excitement From The Chiefs, A Return to the furious Days Of Tyreek Hill, And That Could Return Depending On How The Chiefs Work In The off-season. The Chiefs' off-season, of course, had to start by plugging Chris Jones into a new contract. The Secondary That Finished The Season Atop The League Could Find Themselves Separated With L'jarius Sneed Headed For Free Agency. The Chiefs Will Look To Make A Three-Peat, and After Winning Theo's Improbable Super Bowl Last Season, I Believe The Chiefs Could Make That Happen.
